busy ...

Cade is almost 6 weeks now and he is doing so good. I think he loves Kaley as much as she loves him. He smiles at her the most.
At the beginning of the month we worked at our church Czechfest. Auntie Haley came to play with Kaley. Cade hung out with us in the snack booth.
Kaley helped in the snack booth too.We went to the aquarium one day last week. Kaley loves the dolphins. I think she even dreams about them because one morning when she woke up she ask me if she saw Chi last night. Chi is one of the dolphins there. She knows all their names.
We went to Kyndall's first bday party. It is so fun watching Kaley interact with other kids. She loves older girls. Cade Andrew hanging out with Mommy while Kaley was sleeping.

Cade = 1 month

Cade was 9.2 pounds and 22.5 inches long at his 1 month check up. He went from the 16% in weight to the 34% so he is growing fast. He is a very good baby who loves to sleep. He is nursing wonderful but also learned to take a bottle this week. His big sister loves to help take care of him. It is great, I always have someone to go get me a diaper.

Cade's first trip

Cade went on his first trip to New Braunfels to meet his new cousin and see some family especially his great grandmother, Mammaw.

Thank you for coming and staying with us. I dont know how we would have done it without you. We are going to miss you so much. You are the best mama and gigi EVER!!



Kaley is going to miss you(well she already does and you just left). She says thank you for all the fun things you did with her. The pictures prove the fun you two had together.

Kaley is such a great big sister, almost too good. She wants to hold and love on him all the time. The best thing we did was give Kaley a baby doll at the hospital (it was from her new brother). She loved it. She has a carseat and a sling for her new baby just like mommy has for Cade.
I am so surprised at how much Kaley understands what happened. She knows that brother is not in my tummy anymore. One day as we were all sitting on the couch together she said,"we the best family." She knows that her brother is now part of our family and here to stay. She will ask other people to put brother down and hold her but she hasnt asked me to put him down. I guess she understands that he needs me to feed him and take care of him.

Cade = 1 week

Sept 7 (my due date)- Cade = 1 week old.
So far you are a pro at sleeping. We have to wake you to feed you or change you. You never cry, which I don't expect to last forever. You have long skinny legs and the most heart melting little smile. At your first Dr appointment you weighed 6lbs 11 oz and were 21 in long. You were slightly jaundice so we went to have blood work done and everything came back fine.

My birth story is pretty uneventful, thank goodness. We went to the hospital at 5:30 am to be induced. They started pitocin, I had my epidural around noon, started pushing around 3, and had Cade at 3:25. (The funny part is that Kaley was born at 3:24 and also on a Wed with an induction.) This delivery and healing process was so much better for me than my last. I have not been in as much pain at all. I am very thankful for our newest addition to our family, we love him so much.


Going home so we can all be together.
